					<title>My Guitar</title>
					<link>http://tomglynn.com/blog.cfm?feature=1165303&amp;postid=174739</link>
<description>About a year ago, I had the privilege of getting my hands on a baritone acoustic guitar built by luthier David Berkowitz&amp;nbsp;in Washington D.C.. His guitars have been called the &amp;quot;cello of guitars&amp;quot; for their incredibly full sound and beautiful construction. David and I had some discussion before-hand about modifying the guitar to accommodate an alternate stringing, which would encompass the low bass notes of the Berkowitz baritone along with the higher bell tones of a standard guitar. My hope was that it would be a perfect compliment as a solo instrument to accompany voice, especially considering my particular finger-picking style. David had never configured one of his baritones quite like that before, but he was game and quickly accomplished the task at hand. I was completely blown away by the result. In the 30 years that I&apos;ve been playing guitar, I have never played or heard anything like it.

After many months of practicing and playing live with it, and encouraged by the&amp;nbsp;comments I was getting about the sound of the instrument, I decided it was time to record a full album of unadorned&amp;nbsp;music that focused on the songs and&amp;nbsp;the beauty of this magnificent guitar. The result is the new album &amp;quot;Blue You&apos;ll Do&amp;quot;, which was sung and played live onto a digital 8-track recorder on a snowy night in a loft&amp;nbsp;overlooking downtown&amp;nbsp;Northampton, MA. I then added harmonies plus some occasional&amp;nbsp;piano and percussion the following evening&amp;nbsp;. Best listened to&amp;nbsp;on&amp;nbsp;speakers or headphones that have some bass, I hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, Tom</description>
